You know, family is not always a mom, dad and 2.5 kids. Sometimes, there are extra members, or members missing, or in the case of this session, your kids have fur. I was so excited when my friend Stacy contacted me for a couple session with their 2 dogs, Brendal and Rus. I love these guys, and I know they have had a rough year, and it was my absolute pleasure to document their hearts, their love, their family. Due to unforeseen circumstances, we actually split their hour session in two. The first part was just the two of them on a beautiful warm, sunny day in October at the Clarence J Brown Reservoir. It is one of my favorite spots because the light there at sunset is just so yummy. Stacy and Isaac were naturals in front of the camera, and I had a great time documenting their connection.
The second part, I honestly showed up at their home with no expectations. Just like young kids, you kind of are on their schedule and just have to let go and let them be themselves. We had an absolute blast playing in their backyard in Springfield, Ohio. I was able to capture parts of their everyday life and love, with some fun tricks and a rousing game of fetch thrown in. The pups did so good!
All of this has been lighthearted, but this session brings me back to my why. These days, these moments - whatever they are made of, are fleeting. If you don't document it, you will eventually forget that cute little thing they used to do, or the way they played with each other (or didn't) at that age. It's so important to document these things because life is crazy sometimes and you may not get another chance. I was SO glad I was able to capture these precious memories for Stacy and Isaac, because just a week or so ago, Brendal, the sweetest little Pug, passed over the rainbow bridge and I know that she is deeply missed. I am so thankful I was able to give these moments in time, forever immortalized, to this sweet couple. What moments of yours would you like for me to turn in forever memories? Contact me today!
