I get SO excited when a mom contacts me for a family documentary session, especially when there are fun and meaningful family traditions involved. I gladly drove to Gahanna, Ohio early this spring morning for this special last day of school session. I mean, how cool! This mom wanted her daily walk to school with her girls documented, as well as all of their sweet morning routine.
This is where its at people. Photos like these tell a story all their own, the story of your beautifully messy, wonderfully imperfect LIFE.
Don't get me wrong, I am not planning on giving up my golden fields anytime soon, but the more of these family documentary sessions I do, the more I WANT to capture these crazy beautiful real life moments for you! It's such a privilege for me to be welcomed in to someone's inner world, where they are completely themselves. There is no pretense, no facade, just you and your family and how you do life together. Each session is such an inspiration to me, and each time I come away having fallen more and more in love with LIFE.
Ok, enough of the mushy stuff, this session started with mom waking up her sleepy girls, followed by a reading a special book in bed and a cuddle fest.
Next it was on to the kitchen to fix up fresh hair cuts (including some rad tiger stripes!), do a little "flossing", pack lunches, and eat a wholesome breakfast in between all the giggling.
And the cute little family quirks just kept coming! Dad was already at work, but he left a story (which apparently he does often) on the table for his 3 special girls. This family was so FUN, they create and play during even the most mundane tasks.
Finally, a little creative lego time before heading out the door for their walk to school hand in hand. It is evident in these photos how close of a bond this family has.
As we neared their school, these 3 did their family chant about beauty, and kindness, and bravery, and being who you are. I loved it! Then it was hugs all around as another school year came to end.
Does this type of photography pull at your heartstrings like it pulls at mine? A stress free session that shows who you really are. I have several options available, from an hour like this one to a 4 hour partial day in the life session.
